The Ax murderer of careers, relationships and creativity

For over a quarter of a century the world's leading hair and beauty publications from New York to Tokyo share one common element...photos by Jack Cutler. With over 250 national and international magazine covers to his credit, Jack has been rated as one of the top beauty/fashion photographers in the world. Jack is also a photography instructor and writer. His articles on lighting have appeared in Today's Photographer, Lens, and Salon today. His publishing credits also include features for Rangefinder magazine, for which he shot three covers and wrote six feature stories. Not to mention over 11,000 full-page beauty fashion layouts.

His digital credits include Corel Professional Photos on CD ROM™ with 4 titles on the market.

Through Jack’s CD ROM “Techniques” he shares in the knowledge that earned him a gold medal in Milan, two silvers and a bronze in international fashion competition. Blah blah blah. And I have more degrees than a cheap thermometer! ENOUGH, with the ugly assed Ego. ARRRRRRRRRRGH!

The understanding that your accomplishments do not make you a superior being. E.g. I am a great artist. Bullshit! I take photos of hairstyles. See how it works. The truth shall set you free... to create !

I have been shooting since I was thirteen and have accomplished all the above… but, I put my pants on one leg at a time and still haven't been able to figure how to spin gold or walk on water.  The reality is I enjoy shooting my art a lot more than commercial beauty. After 30 years it grows old. Now I shoot only for select clients that allow some creative freedom via teamwork.

The bottom line is this, my background as a photographer has taught me to pay attention to detail. This reflects in my labs quality. My employees have been with me for years, and collectivly we have over 100 years in the photo business! If you are taking intimate pictures of your wife or a friend, your concern is confidentiality and quality. You are always assured of both! Jack Cutler, Owner Discreet & Confidential Color. . . aka DCC
